Mrs. Kena Harris

Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Kena Harris, and I would like to say, "Welcome to my website and the 2023-24 school year!"  I am so excited to be your child’s 5thgrade teacher!  This is my 12th year as a certified teacher.  However, I have over 20 years of experience in the education.

About Me

 I am married to Anthony Harris, and we have one son, An’Frenee. Some of the things I enjoy are going to church, shopping and spending quality time with my family.                                                                                                   

Education

I have a Master’s degree in Teaching from Belhaven University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Alcorn State University. 

Our Focus on Learning:

This year we will do many exciting things in the classroom as students will learn to take ownership of their own learning.  We will accomplish this by consistently expressing the importance of doing homework; students doing their homework; students being actively engaged in the classroom; and students properly preparing for upcoming assignments, quizzes, and assessments. If we all work together, these goals will become a reality.  I believe this will be an awesome year of learning and growth for all of us!
