Some of the Amazing Things We Have Learned This Year

These are some of the major objectives we have covered this year:

        - Multiplication/Division

        - Fractions (identify fractions, fractions on a number line, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions with the same numerator or denominator (remember third grade only deals with fractions with denominators of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8))

        - Time (telling time and finding elapsed time)

        - Adding/Subtracting within 1,000 with and without regrouping

        - 1 and 2 step word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and    division

       - Rounding to the nearest ten and hundred

      - Find area and perimeter

Study multiplication facts!!!

About the Teacher

A little about Mrs. Bledsoe I grew up in New York.  I moved to Southaven when I was 16 years old and still live here.  I live in Southaven with my husband Roy and our dog Perry. I am the oldest of 4 siblings and we are all super close.  I love getting to hang out with them and when we are together we are always laughing.  I also enjoy reading!  I try to do some DIY around the house and sometimes it goes much better than others.  I love flowers and keep hoping to develop a green thumb but so far no luck.  I also love Starbucks and Diet Dr. Pepper!

I graduated high school from Southaven High.  I went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Ole Miss.  I have a Master's degree in Elementary Education with a focus on reading from Fort Hays State University and am currently working on my specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Ole Miss.

I have taught 3rd grade at Horn Lake Intermediate for four years.  Before I started teaching here I was one of the school's TST coaches.

A Message from Mrs. Bledsoe

Hey Kiddos I am missing you so much!  I hope you are staying safe and making good choices.  Remember to be the leader I know you are.  While we aren't in school together please work on your iReady lessons, study your multiplication facts, and read.  It is so important to continue to grow!  If you need anything use this form to contact me or ask your parents if you can text me!  BIG HUGS!!!!

Parents - I know this is new for all of us but I am available if you need anything.  As always my first priority is your child's well being.  If they are stressing or having any problems let me know.  While at home have your child work on iReady, study multiplication facts, and read.  If you are in need of any extra resources or support please reach out.

Distance Learning Plan

HLIS will be using the i-Ready platform for our ELA and Math Distance Learning lessons.  This platform allows me to continually monitor student progress in order to provide students with needed support and help our team plan for upcoming lessons.

For students to access i-Ready they will need the following information:
Username: First initial of student's first name, first initial of student's last name

Password: Student's lunch number

For example, the student's name is John Doe and his lunch number is 123456.
Username: JD123456

Password: 123456

To log-in to i-Ready, please go to the following link: i-ready login

The web version works best through Google Chrome.  Also, there is an i-Ready app available for iPads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
