About the Teacher

Education: I graduated from Horn Lake High School in 2002, and I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Experience: I started teaching in the DeSoto County School System in 2007. I have taught third grade for 13 years.  This is my thirteenth year with Horn Lake Intermediate School.

Bio: I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but my parents moved to Walls, MS when I was one year old. I have grown up in DeSoto County my entire life.

After I graduated college, I met and married my husband.  We have an 11 year old, AND he is a sixth grader...his name is Carter.  He is the smartest and sweetest thing ever!  I have to brag that he's pretty awesome at riding his dirt bike. :)

I absolutely love teaching reading and math!  I am so blessed that I get to teach all of the subjects this year.   I love decorating, and spending time with my family.   I love being in nature and in my backyard looking at my flower beds, vegetable garden, and the woods.  I have a dream to be able to travel to the most beautiful places in the United States and go backpacking to see it all!

I have three pets.  I have a Bassett Hound named Lucy Goose, a Border Collie names Panda, and a grey and white fat cat named Max.
