Whew! Where did the first nine weeks go? As I have learned some great things about your students, I hope they are learning a lot in 5th grade. Parents, you have probably already figured out 5th grade is harder than 4th for many reasons. One thing I have learned is that children are learning to read in kindergarten through 3rd grade, and from 4th grade on up, they read to learn. That is why it is so important that students read every day. So, help me help you students by exposing them to different kinds of text each day.

Quote of the week:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

                                                     ~Martin Luther King
