Pursuing a Masters in Gifted, Talented and Creative at Arkansas State University

The 2017-2018 school year begins the sixth year of my teaching career. Before teaching, I worked as an Assistant Distance Learning Coordinator and Director of Admissions for East Mississippi Community College- GT.  My teaching career began in Coahoma County where I taught 3rd grade Mathematics and Science at Friars Point Elementary School. Before moving to DeSoto County, I taught 2nd grade at New Hope Elementary in Columbus, MS. This year I will be realizing my dream and goal of teaching gifted classes. Thank you for sharing your children with me.

Hi and welcome to my class ! I am very excited to be one of the Spotlight teachers at Horn Lake Intermediate School where we are going to have the best year yet!

I am a graduate of Mississippi University for Women and am currently working towards a Masters in Gifted, Talented and Creative at Arkansas State University.

I am originally from Columbus, MS , home to Mississippi University for Women and the Columbus Air Force Base. It is located 30 minutes west of Mississippi State University and an hour east of The Univesity Of Alabama. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Greg and our 3 children; Emily Grace, Chance and Nash. We have two dogs that are more like kids than dogs. Bryant is a schnoodle and Dixe is a dapple dauschand. My husband is also a teacher. He teaches and is an assistant football coach at Horn Lake High School.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I fully believe that we are a team when it comes to your child's education.

I look forward to spending this next year with you and your child. Thank you for sharing him/her with me!
